While growing up on a 265 acre dairy farm in the northern part of the county, and another dairy farm just a short distance apart, my wife and I both learned valuable lessons from our parents, "the only thing that would lead to success was hard work."   My wife's family bought a bar-restaurant in 1969 and with a lot of blood sweat and tears, built a successful business.  I was fortunate enough to be hired to work as a busboy at the restaurant in 1976, eventually courted the boss's daughter, caught her at a weak moment and convinced her to marry me in 1983.  Twenty four years and two children later, my wife and I stepped out on our own and purchased the former Maple City Restaurant, a historic landmark since 1947.  Over thirty years of experience told us both that it wouldn't be easy, but we followed our hearts and thoroughly enjoy the success of this little piece of history in the middle of town.
